Occupational safety and health especially in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is an aspect that employers need to pay close attention to. This is because activities carried out at the workplace can create risks for hazardous incidents, accidents, injuries, and deaths not only to workers, but also to the general public in the workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH-C) is a position specifically assigned to assist SME employers in ensuring the OSH Compliance with legal requirements, communicating with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), administrating OSH documents and taking appropriate action in promoting OSH culture in the workplace. This function is created through a program by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) under the Occupational Safety and Health Strategic Plan in the Small and Medium Industries Sector (SME 2020). The strategic plan is designed to enhance the OSH Management in the SME sector to accomplish the vision to inculcate a culture of injury prevention and disease in the workplace.
OSH Coordinator Training Objective
At the end of the session, an Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH) will be able to:
1. Understand the purpose, objective and importance of OSH-Coordinator in an organization
2. Perform duties as OSH-Coordinator in an organization
3. Understand the legal requirement of Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Factories Machinery Act
4. Promote safety culture at the workplace
5. Take reasonable action pertaining to OSH compliance
6. Manage and maintain OSH documents
OSH Coordinator Training Target Group

5. Supervisors and Team Leaders from various sectors of small medium industries
REQUIREMENTS
1. Malaysian
2. Minimum Academic: SPM/SKM
3. Aged 19 years old and above
4. Working Experience: 12 months @ 1 year
