Participant Numbers: Each training session must have a minimum of 5 participants and can accommodate up to 35 participants per trainer. Should the number of participants exceed 35, an additional trainer or facilitator will be necessary. This will result in additional charges from the training provider to cover the cost of the extra personnel.
Training Location: The training venue must be located at least 100KM away from your premises, as registered in the HRD Corp’s eTris system. This distance requirement is crucial because it allows you to claim up to RM400 per employee per day. This claim amount covers expenses such as accommodation, meals, and event room rental. If the training location is less than 100KM from your premises, the claimable amount is reduced to RM150 per employee per day.
Program Structure: The team-building program must be designed to include a balanced mix of activities, with at least 50% of the training conducted indoors and 50% conducted outdoors. This is a mandatory requirement set by HRDF/HRD Corp to ensure a comprehensive and engaging training experience. Adhering to this structure is essential for the training to qualify for the HRDF/HRD Corp claim.

How HRDF / HRD Corp payment condition for Your Team Building expenses?

Transportation: Transportation expenses incurred during the training program can be paid by the participant or company upfront and then claimed back from HRDF/HRD Corp. Meals and Accommodation: For meals and accommodation, you can also follow the pay-and-claim process. However, unlike transportation, you do not need to provide receipts or invoices when claiming these expenses. When applying for the HRDF/HRD Corp grant, you simply need to declare the amount spent on meals and accommodation for each participant. This streamlined process ensures that you can claim these necessary expenses without the burden of keeping and submitting detailed receipts.

Trainer Fees: There is no need for any upfront payment or deposit for the trainer’s fees associated with the team-building program. After the training session is completed, the training provider will directly claim the trainer’s fees from your Levy Fund with HRDF/HRD Corp.
