Participants will have the opportunity to identify, utilize, and grasp their obligation toward waste management regulation and requirements under the Malaysian Law for Waste Management during this Personalized Experiential Learning Program that takes place over the course of 2 days. The program will provide an introduction to the Sustainable Waste Management Standard in addition to providing an overview of the principles and practices pertaining to waste management. The program makes it a priority to ensure that participants have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of waste management and the processes involved in the management of hazardous waste operations. The program will assist participants to understand the control of waste management and the work process on the safety and health aspects of waste management in the business. It will also provide participants with a guide for this review.
“Every waste generator shall ensure that all of his employees involved in the identification, handling, labelling, transportation, storage, and spillage or discharge response for scheduled wastes attend training programmes,” as stated in the Waste Management and Minimization Compliance to Environmental Quality (Scheduled Waste) Regulations, 2005.
This obligation for training that is imposed by Waste Management is applicable to all of the personnel of garbage contractors who are engaged in the handling, transportation, and storage of scheduled waste. Another term for this workshop is the Scheduled Waste Management Workshop.
Program objectives
After taking part in the activities associated with this class, you will be able to:
- Make sure they are aware of their roles and duties in the management of garbage.
- Develop the regulatory framework for the waste management system.
- Gain an understanding of how garbage is generated and managed in Malaysia.
- Gain an understanding of the more technical aspects of trash management.
- Make sure you are familiar with the Waste Management Regulation’s provisions, requirements, and compliance standards.
- Develop a reliable control system for the waste management business, focusing on the protection of workers’ health and safety.
Methodology
LECTURE, ROLE PLAY, INDOOR GROUP DYNAMICS, AND DISCUSSIONS
Participants in the program will be able to do the following by the time it is over: -understand, implement, and ensure compliance with the EQA (Scheduled Waste) Regulations 2005
- Wastes that are on a timetable will be better managed in a way that is more methodical, efficient, and lawful.
As a result of this, delegates will gain an understanding of how to manage scheduled waste, which will teach them how to: explain the ways of recognizing the various types of chemicals and the methods of treating them; identify the laws that control the use of chemicals; and so on.
- Describe safe storage methods
- Make certain that the chemical is delivered to the organization with the appropriate and accurate labeling, as stipulated by the CPL regulation
- Commission a Chemical Management Program to be Used for Containing Spills and Cleaning Up After Them
- Ensure that you are using the correct personal protective equipment for the work that is being done
- Ensure that an appropriate procedure is in place for the handling of chemicals
