Under Regulation 25 (1), of the Factories and Machinery (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) (Safety) Regulations 1986 [BOWEC], the main contractor shall appoint a site safety supervisor for the safety supervision on construction activities within the site. Regulation 25 (2) of Regulation BOWEC has stipulate that site safety supervisor must be a person who is competent to perform the duties specified in sub-regulation (3) and (4), and have qualifications approved by the Chief Inspector and working experience of at least for two years as a construction site foreman.
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

CERTIFICATION & VALIDITY
Participants who complete all 10 days of the course with 80% attendance will be granted a training certificate, allowing them to enrol in the NIOSH exam. Participants who pass the NIOSH exam will be eligible to apply for the position of competent site safety supervisor with DOSH.
